Behind the Scenes at Shingatok Bookkeeping. What We’ve Been Building

Over the past few months, we’ve been a little quieter on our website. Not because things have slowed down. In reality, this has been one of the busiest and most transformative seasons since we launched Shingatok Bookkeeping Services. We’ve been out in the community, meeting people, learning, refining, and laying the groundwork for the next chapter of our business.

Growing Through Connection

When we first stepped into the world of networking, it felt intimidating. Talking to strangers, introducing our business, and putting ourselves out there wasn’t easy. But conversation by conversation, something shifted.

We learned that people open up when they feel seen. A simple “How’s your day going?” or “How are you?” creates a genuine moment of connection. Letting others speak first, giving space for their story, and showing real curiosity changed the tone of every interaction.

Networking stopped feeling like chasing leads and started feeling like building relationships. The more we leaned into that, the more confident we became, not just in ourselves, but in the business we’re building.

One of the biggest lessons? People want to help others succeed.

Even when someone isn’t a potential client, they might know someone who is. A conversation with a woman in New York for example was someone we could never serve directly, ended up opening doors to several Canadian connections. It was a reminder not to limit ourselves or our network.

Expanding Across Canada

As our confidence grew, so did our vision.

We’ve begun advertising across Canada, focusing on one major city per month. It’s a steady, intentional approach that allows us to introduce Shingatok Bookkeeping to business owners from coast to coast. Our goal is simple:

  • Build national visibility

  • Promote our remote services

  • Connect with entrepreneurs in every province

  • Grow our presence one relationship at a time

This expansion also pushed us to rethink who we serve. In the beginning, we focused heavily on trades and construction. But through conversations with business owners from all industries, we realized something important:

Every business deserves clarity, clean books, and a partner they can trust.

So we’ve opened our doors wider. Today, we’re connecting with entrepreneurs from all backgrounds and it feels like the right direction.

A Business Built on Relationships

Everything we’ve been doing behind the scenes networking, advertising, expanding our target market comes back to one core belief:

Business is built on relationships.

Not transactions.
Not pressure.
Not quick wins.

Relationships!

We want people to feel that when they meet us. We want them to walk away thinking:

“I want to be part of this journey.”

Because bookkeeping isn’t just numbers. It’s trust. It’s clarity. It’s partnership. We’re building a business that reflects that.

What’s Ahead

We’re continuing our city‑by‑city expansion. We’re meeting new people every week. We’re strengthening our systems and refining our workflows. We’re growing into the national, relationship‑driven bookkeeping service we set out to build.

We are just getting started and we are excited for this journey.
