Building a Legacy
The story behind our name Shingatok (pronounced Sh-ing-Ah-Took) is an uncommon Inuit name. We chose it to honour our heritage and because we believe in building a legacy that lasts.
We started this business because we saw too many skilled tradespeople struggling. They were great at their trade but getting buried by their bookkeeping. We saw WCB clearances denied and relationships with vendors hurt all because the books fell behind.
We knew we could help. We exist to make sure your financial foundation is as strong as the structures you build.

Kevin Shingatok is the founder and public face of Shingatok Bookkeeping Services, bringing a unique blend of entrepreneurial vision and hands-on industry experience to the company. Before launching the firm, Kevin built his career in quality assurance, specializing in testing embedded software in panels that are a part of a crane operator aid safety system. His expertise in quality control ensured that every safety panel met rigorous standards before reaching clients, reflecting his commitment to precision and reliability.
Proud of his Inuit and Guyanese heritage, Kevin embodies inclusivity and resilience, values that shape both his leadership style and the company’s identity.
