Finding Momentum in a Busy Week of Connection and Community

I’ve been reflecting just how full and energizing the past few days have been. What stands out most is the number of incredible business owners I had the chance to meet through the Canadian Queer Chamber of Commerce. Each conversation felt meaningful, even though the schedule was tight. With only fifteen minutes per meeting, I often found myself wishing for more time; there were so many stories I wanted to hear, and so many people I wanted to learn more about.

Joining this community has already been a highlight. There’s something powerful about being surrounded by people who lead with authenticity, collaboration, and heart. It feels like the right place to grow, contribute, and build relationships that last.

Alongside that momentum, we’ve also been very active on a platform I recently discovered called Alignable. The response there has been surprisingly strong. Connection requests have been rolling in, and it’s been refreshing to see our brand gaining visibility and recognition. It’s a reminder that the work we’ve put into building Shingatok Bookkeeping Services with intention clarity, warmth, and professionalism is resonating with people.

One of the most memorable conversations this week was with a wonderful business owner in New York. Early in our discussion, I shared that we focus exclusively on Canadian companies. Part of that is practical: foreign tax laws add complexity, and cross‑border income can create challenges during tax season. She understood completely. In fact, she went a step further and mentioned she has Canadian clients she may be able to refer our way. That kind of generosity and alignment is exactly why I value these networking spaces so much.

As the week wraps up, I’m feeling grateful for the connections, the conversations, and the sense of community that continues to grow around us. It’s been busy, but in the best possible way.
